What Are LED Tv's?
As you all know the LCD tv is a Liquid Crystal Display. And what means by that is, Basically a normal television has lamps and a circuit and a display which could decode the signals and produce with the help of lamps. Here in LCD, A crystal chemical which is a nematic crystal molecules, which are aligned by the polarization of light. There are some methods by which they work such as Twisted nematic method, Advanced Fringe Field Shifting, Vertical alignment, and Blue phase method. These are the methods by which when placed between polarized glasses the chemicals tend to align themselves differently on the light from the lamp. the signals modulate these liquid molecules making them generate images. Because they are molecular alignment in nature they tend to give more clarity and brightness and adjustments with quality compared to other technologies.

But the latest in Industry is the LED television which has replaced the LCD division of Tv's. The LED Tv's as called is not made up of Light emitting diode display, but the CCFL(Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp) lamp has been replaced with LED's. Which results in better Better impact, Thinner display and better power dissipation compared to LCD's or Plasma displays.It is given as LED because of the OLED(Organic light emitting diode) technology for back lighting.There are types of LED's i.e RGB Dynamic LED, EDGE LED, Full Array LED.

RGB Dynamic LED, In which white and black and RGB coloured LED's are positioned behind the panels to give the back lighting for the displays. But this has reduced cost and also the quality is compromised because of this method of back lighting allows dimming in specific areas of darkness in the screen. And visuals such as small and bright objects in darker backgrounds are of less detail.

EDGE LED, This Technology was introduced by Industry majors such as SONY and SAMSUNG. In this method the LED's are placed in inside the panel of the frame where the light is given evenly across all the areas of the screen and evenly behind the LED panels. These EDGE LED technology gave way for much slimmer Panels of Tv's and better results in power dissipation.

Full Array LED, This is the Most used way of LED as the LED are placed in arrays behind the panel which could bring better brightness, contrast and picture detail to the viewer. This provides more rapid response to scene changes, and rendering of image capacity has been increased.

Flickering in LED tv's is a most commonly reported problem as the LED which are used for back lighting are often affected by Pulse Width Modulation to the supply current which switches the back light off and on.This causes discomfort for the eye and strain while watching. Yet, this problem can be eliminated by adjusting the brightness to full, but it may cause a negative quality on the image displayed.

Advantage of LED's over LCD's are:-
The difference between Black and White which is generally called as the Contrast Ratio is high in LED's than LCD's which is a main factor in Televisions. The better the thinner the more the stylish! is the in thing, and LED paves way for that factor as the EDGE technology has comforted users with a thinner television experience. The power dissipation which is a major problem in the growing industry has been avoided to an extent with LED introduction over LCD. Energy consumption is so less that everyone would normally prefer LED's. Plus while recycling the product LCD's are not environment friendly as the nematic molecules will cause environment destruction but LED's don't. So in every way a LED Tv will be more Advantageous than a LCD Tv.
